Premnagar is located at a distance of 55 KM from district head quarters Ambikapur towards the west and 265 KM towards south from State capital Raipur . Premnagar Tehsil is bounded by Ramanujnagar Tehsil and Surajpur Tehsil towards North, Udaipur Tehsil and Lakhanpur Tehsil towards East . The nearby cities of the town are Ambikapur, Korba, Dipka, Chirmiri. It is at 210 m elevation (altitude). and coordinates at 23.22 °N and 82.84 °E.

Climate of Premnagar

The climate of Premnagar is very well suited for agricultural and other floral patterns. The main crops grown in the region are rice, paddy etc which are found in abundance in the region. During summer season the the region remains relatively hot with temperature varying between 26°C to 43°C. Temperature remains cool during winters with temperature going down to 5°C to 9°C .

Ambikapur is one of the most important spiritual place of Chhattisgarh. It is a few kms.away from Premnagar. The place is lined with green and sprawling trees with canopies of trees surrounding all the places. The lakes and the amazing architecture of the place makes you want to look and visit it. Korba,Janjgir-Champa are other places of interest.

Premnagar is well connected to all major cities of northern India. The nearest station is Bilaspur.
